ISAP Hawassa University - Justus Liebig University Giessen
- Cooperation Background
- In 2005 Hawassa University (HU) and Justus Liebig University established their first cooperation agreement, at first with the College of Agriculture. As of 2019 the cooperation was revived between the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies (JLU) and the Institute of Policy and Development Research (HU), especially in the subject area of Education. There have been anual student excursions to Hawassa University and guest professor visits to Justus Liebig University. Tight links are also in the area of curriculum development and joint social research. As of Summer Semester 2022 the new DAAD funded International Study and Training Partnership (ISAP) will finance three students from HU to study at JLU as exchange students. Additionally, one lecturer will be invited each year. In the other direction, three JLU students and one JLU lecturer receives DAAD funding for their exchange semester and short-term lecturing.

Course selection: Courses from Adult Education, Multicultural & International Education, Educational Research, Sociology
Semester times: March - July
Scope of study: 30 ECTS, including German language classes and orientation programme
Scholarship benefit:
1,200 € lump sum for flight costs
400 € scholarship per month
language preparation and cultural orientation programme (JLU International Summer Course)
